On Monday, after the second sitting of the public organisational committee to commemorate the 90th birthday anniversary (December 19) of Mykola Danylovych Rudenko, Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared that the publicity is supposed to honor prominent Ukrainian figures irrespective of the state authorities intentions or their lack.
Mykola Tomenko reminded that the public organization committee was founded to commemorate the 90th birthday anniversary (December 19) of Mykola Danylovych Rudenko, prominent Ukrainian human rights activist, writer, philosopher, founder of the Ukrainian Helsinki Group, Hero of Ukraine. Borys Oliynyk, Hero of Ukraine, Head of the Ukrainian Cultural Fund and Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, co-chair the public organization committee. The organization committee includes Raisa Rudenko, wife and fellow companion of Mykola Rudenko, Serhii Halchenko, Deputy Director of the Literature Institute, Petro Zasenko, Secretary of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine,
Mykola Tomenko emphasised that the main task of the organisational committee is entire information regarding the 90th birthday anniversary of Mykola Danylovych Rudenko, prominent Ukrainian human rights activist, writer, philosopher, founder of the Ukrainian Helsinki Group, Hero of Ukraine. Furthermore, during the committee sitting the participants discussed the assistance in the organization and popularization and informational support of several more anniversary dates, namely: 170th birthday anniversary of Mykhailo Starytskii (December 14), 120th birthday anniversary of Pavlo Tychyna (January 27) and 140th birthday anniversary of Lesia Ukrainka (Fevruary 25).
